Tasting - Bindi Sergardi La Boncia Chianti

This is the La Bonica Chianti by Bindi Sergardi. Chianti is a wine named after the region in Tuscany that specializes in this varietal, Sangiovese, of which this wine is made of exclusively. This wine was produced in Siena, Tuscany, Italy and its vintage year is 2021. It was $16 from Zeppoli's.

Winemaker notes advertise a dry wine with gentle tannins and an intense fragrance with notes of grapefruit and red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, according to wine.com. It is best drunk young to appreciate freshness. Winecritics.com noted currants, raspberry, and cherry as primary scents that make it fruity and lively; they rated 91 points out of 100.
During my own tasting, I took note of the ruby red color and an initial sniff gave scents of cherry, plum, and a little bit of woodiness, which my taste test agreed with. I also noted it to be quite dry and acidic. Wine folly agrees with my tasting that cherry and plum are the primary flavors, although it did not include raspberry as the winemaker and critics suggest, and I did not notice a raspberry flavor either. I did not taste this wine with food unfortunately, but I would like to enjoy it with a nice steak or meaty pasta. The wine was a little too dry for my liking but I enjoyed the fruitiness and for my personal taste, I would rate this a 7.5/10, would drink again! :)
